A SPOOOOKY Update!
As promised!

Mom and I went trick-or-treating. I mostly just chilled. No candy for me this year!

This is me and my buddies. Alex the cat, Emma the pumpkin, Brody the dinosaur and me the bear!

I was nice and cozy warm in my costume...

Then we stopped by and visited Aunt Jen before heading home. She wanted to see me in my cuddly bear costume.

Happy Halloween!

Twenty Four Weeks
We've had a busy week
My Mom and Dad and me.
I thought I'd share it in prose
To shake things up a bit around here.

Uh. Hm. Still working on the rhyming thing. Whaddya expect anyway? I'm only just a baby! Sheesh! Ahem...

Moving along...

I went to a Halloween party
With my Mommy and Aunt Faren.
I started out in my turtle costume,
But the heat I wasn't havin'.

Me, Dad and Mom dined with relatives.
Great Uncle Howard and Aunt Ruth.
I had a rockin' time.
Note to self: Fun = Family + Food

On the Eve of Hallow's Eve
Dad and I conspired
To make Mom wish that laundry
Was done by someone she hired.

I'm diggin' on bananas
Mixed with my oatmeal.
Not only does it taste good
but it has an interesting feel.

Last week I was a Turtle
And today I am a pumpkin.
But don't let the get up mislead you.
I ain't no country bumpkin.

I know you'll be sad to hear it,
Each week you prolly fear it,
But it's time for me to go now.
This pumpkin bids you 'peace out'.

But before I leave you hangin'
I hope your Halloween's bangin'
And you might want to check in later
For some Halloween photos of...yours truly.

Still working on the rhyming thing. Thanks for understanding.

Twenty Three...Hee Hee
Psst! Just so's you know! Somehow this post was published before it was done! It's all updated now.

Hey all! This has been an exciting week. Mommom and Aunt Michelle and cousin Stan came for a visit!

Mommy wanted to see how my turtle Halloween costume fit. Looks great to me!

We're in the Halloween mood. Check out my pumpkin PJs.

Aunt Michelle and cousin Stan and I on the way home from the airport. We stopped at Kermit's, a tradition when Mom picks someone up from the airport, to chow on some homemade chili. Well, actually, I passed on the chili. I've got gas enough!

Choo-Choo!

Me and Mommom and Stan!

Lean on me...when you're not strong...and I'll be your friend...I'll help you carry on...

*click on the words above for some lean on me goodness*

Hangin' with Mommom in our pajamas!

So, I have this cousin Stan, and he's THIS big!

Mommy, Daddy and me.

Mom and Aunt Michelle thought maybe they'd sneak off for a bit while we slept. We showed them! Mommom had her hands full.

Hey buddy...pssst....hey!

Cora Jane: Nice outfit.

Stan: Mmmm...beer.

Excuse us! Can't you see we were talking?

Sometimes me and Mom like to catch some zzzzz's before she goes to work and I go to daycare!

Cora Jane: Hey, so, uh, what are your thoughts on this whole 'being the subject of so many photos?'

Stan: It's exhausting.

Hey...Yo Stan! *sigh* Babies.

Me and Stan like to hold hands.

Well, we're all getting ready for Halloween around here! Tune in next week for a SPOOOOOKY update!

I Am Twenty Two Weeks, Coo Coo Ca Choo...
Take me out to the...Wait a minute...Dang!

Apparently I've grown into my Cubs onesie just a little too late. I'm not one who likes to be late to the game. Can you tell?

When Mom first told me the Cubs were out of the playoffs, I was incredulous...

And then just a little bit sad...

So, I decided to drown my sorrows in a nice big bottle of milk...

Um, yo Mom! What the heck is it you put in these bottles, anyway?

Dude, I have a bubble mohawk! And, it's of the huggies baby wash variety. NOT Palmolive!

Well, I'm going to make like a tree and leave! My cousin Stan and Mommom and Aunt Michelle are visiting this week! Woot woot! I can't wait! We'll have plenty of photos of our adventures for you to peruse next week. Until then...

There is Something Fishy About Being Twenty One Weeks...
This week blew me outta the water, I tell ya! Me and Mom and Dad went to Denver for two days and stayed in a hotel and everything! We visited the aquarium and all of its inhabitants. Everything went swimmingly. Okay, I'm over it with the puns.

Ahem. So, I started getting a little coughy and stuff toward the end of our trip and Mom brought me to the doctor when we got home. Dr. N is a really nice guy. He has three little girls himself and always tells me he thought there were no more little girls to be had in his family, but seeing me makes him want another one! Doesn't surprise me much that I'd inspire such thoughts! Anyway, I'm all healthy and stuff, just a little cold, which is completely normal for babies building up brand new immune systems. Good to know. Also, I weigh 13 pounds, 8 ounces. I'm more than twice as big as when I was born. Holy cow, I'm growing up so quick!

Onto the photos...

Hey, so, um, Dad, do you kind of get the feeling we're being watched?

Now, I know I'm getting big and all, but I gotta say, I think that turtle's got me beat in the BIG turtle department!

The sea otter was so happy to see me and Dad, s/he couldn't stop doing tricks and flips. I took notes for future encounters with diving boards!

Dad wanted me to experience the aquarium first hand. Or foot. But not quite.

I'm beginning to wonder how cute and affectionate of a nickname Turtle was. Turtles aren't looking quite adorable to me after this excursion!

I kicked back for a bit while Mom and Dad enjoyed a frothy adult beverage at an Irish pub after the aquarium. They laughed at how I like to prop my feet up on the stroller.

Mom's always giving me kisses. I figure I won't battle her on it 'til I'm in school and have friends and stuff. Then I'll tell her she's embarrassing me.

Dad picked out this turtle for me at the aquarium. It's nice and soft and now my dinosaur and I have another bedtime buddy.

This is me and my Aunt Faren!

Check me out! I'm wearing an outfit Mom sent to my cousin Kayla when she was born...

That's her wearing it a few months ago! Don't we look like cousins? Anyway, Aunt Kerri sent it back to Mom so now it's my turn!

Well, you heard it all here, folks. Time for me to rock and roll...

Until next week,
Cora Jane

About A Girl

Name: Cora Jane

About Me: I'm my Mom's and Dad's kid. Apparently, they've been waiting on me for a while and didn't have the best of luck getting me here. I'm the miracle baby that hung around after my Mom had three miscarriages and then was put on bedrest at five months pregnant for fear she was losing me, too. But, now I'm here and they really dig me. I dig them, too. It's cool.
