Ten Week
Don't fret you guys. Mom didn't forget. We're just still in Moving Mania 2007 and, as per usual, she's running a little behind. Understandable. At any rate, tomorrow night I'm flying to Jersey to meet my cousins, Stan and Kayla, and my aunts and uncles. Mom's Dad, my Poppop, is flying in and I'll meet him for the first time. I'll also get to see Mommom again and meet Mom's step-dad, my Pappy. I'll also be seeing tons of other family, Mom's cousins and aunts and uncles. There'll even be another baby, my second cousin, Aubrianna, who is just a little over a month older than me. It'll be really exciting. I can't wait to hang out with other babies so we can drool all over each other. It'll rock.

Well, here's what I know you really come here for. Some photos of yours truly.

So, don't tell this guy because we don't need him getting a big head, but this dude really knows a thing or two about burping a baby.

Why do I get the feeling this photo will make a debut on prom night?

Seriously, you all, it's like this THING and it has stuff hanging down and it goes around and around and plays songs. It is SWEET! Really, you should all get one.

I can't believe I'm in the double digit weeks now. This bear's got nothin' on me.

Nine Week
If you would kindly bear with us, you'll have to wait just a few more hours for my photo update. Mom and Dad bought a new house, which is very exciting. It has a nice yard that someday will be home to a fort, and more than likely an igloo or two what with all the snow we get up here, for me. The process, though, is kind of a pain. First, my rocking chair was at the old house, the camera was in Dad's car, and the laptop at the new house isn't set up for us to download pictures. Mom ran down last night to pick up my rocking chair, took a bunch of photos, and planned on posting them this morning at the old house. Well, here we are, camera and computer, but, uh, no cord. So the camera and the computer have no way to talk to each other. We'll take care of this most expediently as we know how much you all adore seeing my bad self.

This has been quite an exciting week. Aside from moving, I've reached a few milestones. I've started batting at the dangly toys on my carseat. Someday soon, it's seeming like I'll be grabbing stuff. I also rolled over from front to back. Three times in a row the first night. Mom and Dad think I'm a genius, but really, I loathe tummy time that much and conjured up all of the superhero powers I had in my reserve to put an end to it.

More later...Pinky swear!

Here you go! Sorry, a little too busy for captions this week!

Happy Two Months to Me!
Since today I'm celebrating my two month birthday, I've decided to surprise you all with a bonus update. Would you like to see how I've grown over the past two months? Do you have a feeling I'm going to share it with you whether you want me to or not? Yes? Well, then, good for you. You're beginning to figure me out. So are Mom and Dad. Mom's always saying, "Oh my GOD you are such a Taurus, Cora Jane." Whatever that means.

Before I share the pictures with you, I wanted to let you know how simple it is to make Mom cry and Dad smile. Yesterday, I was hanging out with Mom all day. And then, around 6PM, my Daddy came home. As soon as I saw him, I smiled real big and waved my arms and kicked my feet. Mom said, "AWWWWWW," and broke down in tears. Dad seemed pretty pleased. He asked me if I was just excited to see someone other than Mom. Mom said, "You're so funny."

Moving along...

Eight Week
As you all know, we traveled to Chicago for my Aunt Colleen and Uncle Nik's wedding. It was a blast. Lots of people love me. I'll try not to get a big head about that!

During our trip to Chicago, I required some maintenence. Dad is pretty good at that stuff. You can tell by the contented look on my mug that I'm well maintained! In this photo, we're pretty much looking damn bored in Western Illinois. But I'm contentedly filled with milk and that makes Mom and Dad not regret pulling over on the side of an interstate exit to feed me.

Here is where I, Miss Cora Jane, met my Great Aunt Sheila Jane. She is a great lady. With a fabulous middle name.

No, seriously Dad. It's not mine. It's Mom's! I swear!

The morning before the wedding, Mom and Aunt Jaclyn took me for a walk around Millenium Park. I was a big hit. Not one person passed by without at least cracking a smile. They were super impressed with my coolness factor. I felt like a rock star a little bit.

My Uncle Tim, Dad's brother, rocks. Mom tried to tell him I'm a chick magnet. But he wasn't buying it. Maybe if he took me out while wearing a shirt that said, "Uncle." That might work. Otherwise, um, not so much. Apparently, chicks dig babies. Not baggage.

Me and Dad and Aunt Jaclyn. I was practicing my Jazz Hands.

Mom and Dad and me. We clean up pretty well, eh?

Dancing with my doting Grandpa! I left the fancy footwork to him.

The Jane as a Middle Name Girls hang out once again!

Aunt Jaclyn and me.

Meeting my second cousin, Bryce, and my Dad's cousin, Lisa. Bryce wanted to eat my head. And whenever I cried, it made him sad. It was very cute, according to Mom and Dad.

My 'Official' Uncle Nik!

Aunt Colleen, the most beautiful bride ever, and I.

The happy Aunt and Uncle. Congrats Aunt Colleen and Uncle Nik!!!

Coming soon to a blog near you...My bear rocking chair picture! The camera battery is dead, and Mom's gotta go to work and I have to play with my friends at daycare!

Here we go!

Don't mind the drooly baby look I've got going on. It's all the rage among my two month old peers.

Mom wants to apologize for missing a large part of my head in this photo. She was too busy staring with delight into my real face rather than the camera lens. But, this would be the first succession of photos capturing my smile.

Come on, you know I'm so cute you just want to throw up in your mouth a little. Just admit it.

Seven Week...Sort Of...
Here's the deal, folks. Mom and Dad and I are heading out to Chicago tomorrow for my Aunt Colleen's wedding. Then Uncle Nick will be my uncle for real and stuff! How exciting! I'll also get to meet Dad's brother, my Uncle Tim, and Mom's sister, my Aunt Jaclyn who is flying out to make sure I don't get out of line during the rehearsal and other wedding related activities. What that means for you, I'm sorry to say, is that you'll be without your Cora Jane fix for a little over a week and a half.

Since I am not a heartless baby, I've decided to post some photos for your viewing pleasure just a wee bit early. I'm six weeks and four days old today! I think that warrants a cake or something, but Mom says no. Not just yet.

Anyway, enjoy the photos! Oh yeah, Mom wanted me to let you know that we've updated our birth stories. You'll find that mine is quite succinct and to the point. Mom's is a little wordy if you ask me, but she's a nice lady. I think I'll keep her.

Okay. I know you think it's funny or cute or whatever to give me spikey hair, but really. I have an image I'm trying to keep up here.

Pssst...You know, don't say anything because I don't want to hurt his feelings, but this bear is a little dim if you ask me. He just sits there not saying anything. Poor guy.

Ahem. Lady, you might want to put that camera down. There are other, erm, more urgent matters at hand here on this changing table.

About A Girl

Name: Cora Jane

About Me: I'm my Mom's and Dad's kid. Apparently, they've been waiting on me for a while and didn't have the best of luck getting me here. I'm the miracle baby that hung around after my Mom had three miscarriages and then was put on bedrest at five months pregnant for fear she was losing me, too. But, now I'm here and they really dig me. I dig them, too. It's cool.
